DAY TWO
Hit the ground running, surgically attacking those publishers we thought would be friendly to the new venture.

We had very conservative expectations as to what we might get for our efforts and were totally unprepared for the overwhelmingly positive response we got, not only from the various publishing companies (more on that later) but also from comic book pros whose respect we wanted to either gain or maintain.

The list of friends of Genre 19 grew to include people like Brandon Peterson, Frank Cho, Matt Wayne, Richard Starkings, Jonboy Meyers, Gerry Duggan, Tone Rodriguez, Brian & Scott from Atomic Robo (RED 5 rules!), John Rogers, Sean Galloway (Cheeks), Michael Alan Nelson and more.

We caught a couple of panels, including one Deliciously Curious talent search (more on that later) and, we think, made a lot of new pals. Most important- we learned a hell of a lot this year about simplicity and just really working hard in order to get desired results.

We went to some fun parties (BOOM! Studios knows how to throw it, baby), saw a secret midnight screening of Clive Barker's MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN (yikes!) learned a STACK of secrets about several interesting impending ventures in both comics and TV and just crashed out somewhere around three AM.

We were joined on Friday by photographer Clint Bohn who took a stack of pics, some of which will come up here once we get the copies.

As we were working this Con we didn't get into the big premieres but the buzz on all the new big stuff was pretty positive. We're all in for a lot of treats over the next few months.
